Invitation

On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our honour and pleasure to invite you to the 49th Workshop on Inner Ear Biology (IEB).

The Workshop will be held at the Eberhard-Karls University Tubingen, from 30 September – 2 October 2012, and will be preceded by a Symposium on 29 September at the same location.

The IEB Workshops are organized annually throughout academic centres in Europe with the objective of offering an international platform for scientific exchange on the latest developments in the field of inner ear biology. The Workshops are forum for multidisciplinary interaction between basic research scientists and clinical scientists, working at the genetic, molecular, cellular, and whole-organ levels. The official website of the Workshops is now located at Öffnet externen Link in neuem Fensterwww.innerearbiology.eu.

In conjunction with the Workshop there will be a one-day Symposium, entitled The Inner Ear in Translational Research: Closing the Gap toward Causal Treatment, beginning Saturday morning, 29 September. Presentations will be from invited speakers, and will highlight the cutting-edge issues for inner ear biology. Satellite symposia have proven extremely successful in the last few years because they allow focusing on an exciting topic of inner ear biology.

There is a nominal registration fee of 150 €, with a reduced fee of 80 € for full-time students. Accommodation is extremely well priced: Hotel with breakfast starts a 35 € (Budget) and ranges up to 159 € (Luxury).

The Spoendlin Junior Award will be presented for the best paper presented by a young researcher, under 35 years old. The award will consist of a plaque and a 1,000 € prize. A manuscript in extenso must be mailed to the Workshop Secretariat before 30 June 2012.

We look forward very much to welcoming you in Tübingen in 2012.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,

Tony Gummer
